Packing and throwing away

Moving is always an annoying activity that ends up being worth it in the end, isn’t it? I’m really trying to concentrate on getting rid of most of my stuff. Honest, I’m giving away 50% of my books and clothes, almost all of my CDs and DVDs, and generally throwing out piles of old papers and anything else possible. It’s haaaaaaard and makes me tired. I’m trying to keep single minded like “No, Sarah, you’ll never read this. If you ever want to read it you can take it out of the library or buy it again. No big deal, just give it away.” That’s an example of something I’d say to myself about a book. And I’ll put by the door a huge box of things I’ve decided to lose, but then my heart aches and I worry that maybe I’m giving something away that I will really miss a lot! Lame, eh? But getting rid of things is working eventually, slowly and surely!

I really want to keep things sparse in my life. This is the way it should be, just clean and easy with nothing to worry about except the things that are important. My new surrounding will be clean, organized, focused and that will reflect in my whole life. Yes, I’m constantly self-Dr.Phil-ing myself, badly, if that’s even possible… Anyway, no clutter – that will be a really great change.

Meanwhile, look at the first google image search result of my full name!! Jealous? And without further ado, I give you, “omg_unicorns.jpg”:

Wow, good for you, all improving your psychological headspace ‘n stuff.

I get a rush out of throwing stuff away. Everything in the garbage (or given away) is one more bit of free space and one less bit of clutter. But not books. I can’t part with even the crappiest of them. Like what if I need a specific quote from one someday? When I grow up I’m going to have a library in my house, with books to the ceiling that you need a ladder to get to.

Your unicorn story checks out. Hilarious. I like how this is also you. And this?.

    Mine is pretty rad too.
